Paul Pogba states his prediction for Man United v Hull
Paul Pogba looks ahead to Manchester United's League Cup clash with Hull City on Tuesday night
Paul Pogba is urging his Manchester United team-mates to put the tie to bed when the Red Devils host Hull City in the first leg of their EFL Cup semi-final clash on Tuesday night.
The Red Devils head into the game in fine form and having won their last eight games in all competitions under new boss Jose Mourinho.
Pogba was rested on Saturday as Manchester United claimed a 4-0 win over Reading to book their place in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
Mourinho and his players will be keen to seal a win on Tuesday night as they bid to take a step closer towards winning their first trophy of the season.
And French midfielder Pogba is hoping that the Red Devils can make home advantage count when they take on the Tigers on Tuesday.
Pogba told Manchester United’s website: “It’s a game we want to win of course.
“It’s a semi-final, we want to be in the final and we want to win that cup. If we have the chance to win any trophy we want to take it. It’s an important game for us and the second leg will be difficult so let’s try to finish the tie in the first leg.
“It’s a cup semi-final and they’re playing against Man United so they have nothing to lose. They’ll want to take anything that they can as they’re not doing as well as they’d like at this moment. They’ve had a change of manager too and will want to win this game as it’s very important for them.
“We’ve been playing very well, but we know how football can go. You can go out there and things can turn straightaway. We need to be focused and if we keep playing the football we are playing at the moment then we will be OK.”
Manchester United finished in fifth place in the Premier League and won the FA Cup last season.
