Michael Owen states his prediction for Man United v Liverpool
Michael Owen looks ahead to Manchester United's crunch Premier League clash with Liverpool on Sunday
Michael Owen is backing Manchester United and Liverpool to play out a draw at Old Trafford in their crunch Premier League clash on Sunday afternoon.
The Red Devils head into the game as the favourites following their recent good form under new boss Jose Mourinho.
Manchester United have won their last six Premier League games on the spin to boost their hopes of finishing in the top four this season.
However, the Red Devils are still in sixth place in the table and 10 points behind leaders Chelsea heading into Sunday’s showdown.
Liverpool, meanwhile, have stuttered in recent weeks but are still second in the table and five points behind leaders Chelsea.
Former striker Owen is backing his old teams to play out a scoring draw at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
Writing in his column for BetVictor, Owen said: “What a mouth-watering clash to look forward to! Liverpool have lost 11 of their last 14 Premier League visits to Old Trafford but I think we will see a different Reds side to the one who lost at St Mary’s earlier in the week.
“I hope and expect to see goals, tackles and everything you would wish to see from these two great clubs, but when the dust has settled perhaps their fellow title challengers will be the only winners from the game.”
Manchester United finished fifth and won the FA Cup last season before the appointment of Jose Mourinho in the summer.
