Michael Owen states comfortable prediction for Man United v Wigan

The former Manchester United striker is confident Jose Mourinho's men will have no problems against Wigan Athletic

Michael Owen is confident that Manchester United won’t have any problems dispatching Wigan Athletic in the fourth round of the FA Cup at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.

The Red Devils should take some confidence into the cup clash after the 20-time English champions reached their first Wembley final under new manager Jose Mourinho on Thursday night.

Manchester United set up a EFL Cup final against Southampton next month after a 3-2 aggregate win against Hull City in the semi-final despite losing 2-1 in the second leg at the KCOM Stadium.

The Red Devils saw their 17-game unbeaten run come to an end against the Tigers, despite world-record signing Paul Pogba scoring a second-half equaliser.

Writing in his BetVictor column ahead of Manchester United’s home clash against Championship opponents Wigan Athletic at Old Trafford in the FA Cup fourth round on Sunday, Owen said:

“Wigan were FA Cup winners back in 2013 and beaten semi-finalists twelve months later but I can’t see them getting anything at the home of the holders and expect United to comfortably make it through to the next round.”
