The former Arsenal defender hails Arsene Wenger's side after their 5-0 win at Southampton
Martin Keown hailed Arsenal’s excellent performance after their 5-0 win against Southampton in the FA Cup fourth round.
Danny Welbeck broke the deadlock in the 15th minute with a well-taken goal before the ex-Manchester United man doubled the away side’s lead seven minutes later.
Theo Walcott made it 3-0 before half-time and the ex-Southampton striker scored twice in the second half to complete his hat-trick at St Marys and move onto 99 goals for the north London club.
And former Arsenal defender Keown hailed a great night for the north London side at St Mary’s.
“Jeff Reine-Adelaide and Ainsley Maitland-Niles were excellent. In a night when there was six youngsters player for Southampton, they stole the show. Oxlade-Chamberlain was pulling the strings in midfield. It was a really outstanding performance from Arsenal,” Keown told BT Sport.
Welbeck moved to Arsenal in a £16m deal from Manchester United in the 2015 January transfer window.
The Gunners will host Watford in their next top-flight fixture before the north London club make the trip to leaders Chelsea.
Arsenal are in second place in the Premier League table and eight points behind current leaders Chelsea.
