Martin Keown warns Chelsea about Arsenal in title race: They’ve got some good fixtures

The Arsenal legend delivers his verdict on the Gunners's upcoming fixtures in the Premier League title race

Martin Keown has refused to rule out the possibility of Arsenal catching Chelsea in the Premier League title race.

The Gunners started New Year’s Day in fourth place in the Premier League table and 12 points behind leaders Chelsea.

However, Arsenal eased to a 2-0 win against Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium to bolster their title hopes.

Olivier Giroud broke the deadlock with an incredible scorpion goal before Alex Iwobi found the back of the net in the second half.

Arsenal moved to within nine points of leaders Chelsea thanks to their 2-0 win against Sam Allardyce’s side.

And Keown is confident that Arsenal could make up some ground on Chelsea thanks to their kind run of fixtures.

“Arsenal have five very good fixtures coming up, and they will hope that Chelsea will have dropped points by the end of that run,” Keown told BBC Sport.

“There’s a long way to go in this season yet.”

The north London outfit haven’t won the Premier League title since 2003-04 when Thierry Henry and Patrick Vieira inspired the Gunners to glory.

Arsenal will make the trip to Bournemouth in their next Premier League game on Tuesday night.
