Mauricio Pochettino’s response when asked if Tottenham will make any January signings

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino insists Spurs won't make any signings in the January transfer window

Mauricio Pochettino has played down the possibility of Tottenham Hotspur making any signings in the January transfer window.

Spurs signed five players in the summer after the north London side finished in third place in the table last term.

Victor Wanyama has been the pick of Tottenham’s signings so far after the Kenya international moved to Spurs from Southampton in an £11m deal.

Tottenham have won their last three Premier League games but started the weekend 10 points behind leaders Chelsea after 18 games.

Speaking at his pre-match media conference on Friday afternoon ahead of Tottenham’s trip to Watford at Vicarage Road on New Year’s Day, Pochettino provided an update on his transfer plans.

“No, no, no; I don’t expect to do some business, because I am happy with the squad that I have,” Pochettino said.

“I think it’s not the right moment. Only if it’s a person who will definitely benefit us – otherwise, no.”

Tottenham have won their last three Premier League games since a 1-0 loss to Manchester United at Old Trafford in early December.
