Mesut Ozil has warned Chelsea that they have a long way to go if they want to win the Premier League title this season.

The Blues are currently flying high at the top of the Premier League table after a sparkling start to the season under new manager Antonio Conte.

Chelsea had won 13 games in a row in the Premier League but that run was halted by Tottenham Hotspur last week as the Lilywhites sealed an impressive 2-0 win at White Hart Lane.

The west London side are still the favourites to win the title this season and are currently five points clear of second-placed Liverpool after 20 games.

Arsenal, meanwhile, are in fifth place and eight points behind the leaders as the Gunners look to win the Premier League for the first time since their famous unbeaten triumph in 2003-04.

However, despite Arsenal’s eight-point deficit, Ozil is convinced that the Gunners are capable of catching Chelsea in the race for the top-flight crown.

Ozil told Kicker, as quoted by The Daily Express: “Definitely not [the title race is not over], the past has shown that too.

“A year ago we were top of the league and quite a few people thought we’d be champions.

“Now Chelsea are in that situation but the season is long.
