Niall Quinn offers simple advice to Man United ahead of Liverpool clash

Niall Quinn tells Manchester United to focus on the next game and not catching Chelsea in the title race

Niall Quinn has told Manchester United to forget about catching Chelsea in the race for the Premier League title and instead focus on their next game.

The Red Devils have been in much improved form in recent weeks and notched up their sixth win in a row in the top flight on Monday night as they secured a 2-0 victory over West Ham United in east London.

Manchester United are currently 10 points behind Chelsea as the Blues prepare for their Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane on Wednesday night.

There is a sense of optimism around Manchester United at the moment following their improved form in the top flight.

However, Quinn has urged the Red Devils to forget about their role in the title race and instead focus on beating Liverpool at Old Trafford in their next Premier League game on 15 January.

Speaking to Sky Sports after Manchester United’s win on Monday, Quinn said: “They’ve got to keep doing what they’re doing and if Chelsea come back to them then that’s great. That’s out of their hands.

“It’s more about the next game, which is a massive one against Liverpool.

“Can they think about catching Chelsea now? No, I don’t think they should. They should just feel good about what they’re doing. The fans are beginning to enjoy it all a lot more.”
