Owen Hargreaves names one thing Tottenham are missing in title race

The ex-Manchester United midfielder believes Tottenham Hotspur need a star like Eden Hazard to win the title

Owen Hargreaves believes Tottenham Hotspur need a world-class star like Eden Hazard if Spurs are going to win their first Premier League title.

The Lilywhites underlined their title challenge on Saturday afternoon after the north London side were 4-0 winners against West Bromwich Albion at White Hart Lane on Saturday afternoon.

England international Harry Kane scored a hat-trick to take his tally to 14 goals in 16 games in the 2016-17 Premier League season so far.

Dele Alli has been in excellent form in recent months after a return of five goals in four top-flight fixtures to underline his ever-improving status as one of the league’s best players.

Speaking to BT Sport’s Premier League Tonight show on Saturday evening after Tottenham’s 4-0 win against West Brom, ex-Manchester United midfielder Hargreaves explained why he has doubts about the north London side’s title challenge.

“Definitely. They have the best defence in the Premier League and have one of the best young managers,” Hargreaves said.

“They have one of the best goalkeepers and one of the best centre-forwards in the country. The only thing they miss is a star like Eden Hazard. I think they have everything else. They need that star.”

Tottenham finished in third place in the Premier League table last season and 11 points adrift of eventual champions Leicester City.
