Pat Nevin explains how Chelsea will beat Tottenham on Wednesday

Pat Nevin looks ahead to Chelsea's Premier League trip to Tottenham on Wednesday night

Pat Nevin is confident that Chelsea can claim all three points against Tottenham in the Premier League on Wednesday night – but warned that the Blues will have to be at their absolute best.

The west London side have been the Premier League’s top performing team in the top flight this season, with Antonio Conte’s men having established themselves as the firm favourites to win the title thanks to their 13-game winning run heading into Wednesday’s showdown.

Chelsea know that victory over Spurs at White Hart Lane on Wednesday night would move them eight points clear at the top of the Premier League table.

Nevin confident that Chelsea have what it takes to claim all three points on Wednesday night but warned that all of the Blues players must be at their best to make it happen.

Writing in his column for Chelsea’s website, Nevin said: “I reckon we are going to need everyone at the absolute top of their games in the coming month or so, starting with Spurs.

“They are looking a better outfit than they did last season and they chased Leicester almost the entire way then; well until the night they lost their chance of the title, their composure, their control and finally their heads at Stamford Bridge.

“They do however have Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen all on top form, so this could be amongst the most compelling games of the season so far.

“While everyone got very excited about the Liverpool v Man City game last week, that definitely was a damp squib in the end, I cannot see this as being anything other than a full scale, 100 mph, fully committed and passionate 90 minutes.”
