Paul Pogba makes claim about Man United striker and Eden Hazard
Paul Pogba names the players who he thinks are capable of challenging Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo for the Ballon d'Or
Paul Pogba believes that both Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Eden Hazard are among the players capable of challenging Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi as the best footballers in the world.
Ibrahimovic has been in sensational form for the Red Devils since his arrival in England on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain last summer.
There had been doubts about Ibrahimovic’s ability to adapt to the rigours of the Premier League at 35 years of age.
However, the Swedish forward has been a regular fixture in Jose Mourinho’s first team this season and has already scored 13 goals and made three assists in 19 Premier League games this term.
Hazard has also been in good form for Chelsea this season following his disappointing campaign with the Blues last term.
And Pogba believes that there are a handful of players who are capable of rivalling Messi and Ronaldo for the Ballon d’Or in the seasons to come.
Pogba is quoted as saying by Metro: “Of course, there are other players who can do that. We have Zlatan [Ibrahimovic] at Manchester United. Even he could do it. He’s 35 years old, but the way he’s playing, the way he’s scoring goals, you can see that he’s been in the top level for more than 10 years.
“[Eden] Hazard, Neymar, [Luis] Suarez are doing so well and scoring goals, these are great players who – if they keep scoring – can do that.
“They need to keep scoring though, because that’s the case with Cristiano and Messi, whose performances are always on top.”
