Paul Scholes makes bold claim about Chelsea in the title race

Paul Scholes has admitted that he isn’t sure whether Chelsea can win the Premier League title this season.

The Blues made the short trip to Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday night in search of a 14th successive Premier League win.

However, the west London side suffered a 2-0 loss to Tottenham following goals from Dele Alli either side of half-time.

Chelsea are still five points clear of their closest rivals Liverpool in the title race after the Reds could only draw 2-2 with Sunderland last time out.

Manchester United have won their last eight games in all competitions to suggest that Jose Mourinho’s side could mount a challenge for the title.

Speaking to BT Sport after the Red Devils were 4-0 winners against Reading in the FA Cup on Saturday afternoon, Scholes explained why he believes Manchester United are still in the title race.

“Chelsea have had a great run but I don’t think they are that convincing. Manchester City have their own problems. If Manchester United beat Liverpool, I think they’re right back in it,” Scholes said.
