Paul Scholes predicts where Tottenham and Arsenal will finish this season

Paul Scholes is tipping Tottenham and Arsenal to finish fifth and sixth in the Premier League table this season.

Both Spurs and the Gunners won their Premier League games on Saturday as they bid to mount a challenge for the Premier League title.

Arsenal were 4-0 winners at Swansea, while Tottenham thrashed West Brom 4-0 at White Hart Lane to boost their Premier League hopes.

However, former Manchester United midfielder Scholes feels that both of the north London clubs are likely to miss out on a place in the top four this season.

Speaking on BT Sport’s Premier League Tonight show, Scholes said: “I think Tottenham and Arsenal will finish fifth and sixth. I think the other teams are better than them, it’s as simple as that.

“Man United are on a great run but they will have to go to Tottenham and win, Arsenal and win and beat Chelsea at home. The way they’re playing now, they are capable of doing that.

“Arsenal do the same thing every year [finishing in the top four] – apart from this year.”

Arsenal, who have not won the title since the 2003-04 campaign, finished second in the Premier League table last season and 10 points behind surprise champions Leicester City.

Their bitter local rivals Tottenham, meanwhile, ended up third after being pipped by Arsenal on the final day of the season to second place.
