Paul Scholes: Why I’m excited about Man United’s future
The Manchester United legend is excited about the attacking options at Jose Mourinho's disposal
Paul Scholes has explained why he is feeling excited about Manchester United’s attacking potential under Jose Mourinho.
The Red Devils eased to a 4-0 victory over Reading in the FA Cup third round at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon thanks to goals from Wayne Rooney, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford.
The 20-time English champions have won their last eight games in all competitions for the first time in eight years to build momentum under new manager Mourinho.
Manchester United have scored 18 times during that run as Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Marcus Rashford continue their impressive form.
Speaking to BT Sport after Manchester United’s 4-0 victory over Reading on Saturday afternoon, Scholes heaped praise on Mourinho’s attacking options.
“It is special. Manchester United look like they’ve got goals everywhere at this moment in time,” Scholes said.
“Six or seven weeks ago, you didn’t know where the goals were coming from. They’ve got Zlatan, Rashford, Martial, Rooney and Mata. There looks like there are goals from every position. It’s great for the future.”
Manchester United are in sixth place in the Premier League table and three points adrift of fourth-placed Manchester City.
