Per Mertesacker sends message to Danny Welbeck after Arsenal’s 4-0 win at Swansea

Per Mertesacker was delighted to see Danny Welbeck return to action for Arsenal in the Premier League on Saturday

Per Mertesacker took to social media to express his delight at seeing Danny Welbeck back in action for Arsenal in Saturday’s 4-0 win at Swansea.

The England striker has been missing for most of the season with a serious knee injury but recently made his comeback and came on as a second-half substitute during Arsenal’s win at the Liberty Stadium.

Two Swansea own goals and strikes from Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud handed Arsenal a thumping victory as they bounced back to winning ways in the Premier League.

And Arsenal captain Mertesacker was delighted with the win, and also to see striker Welbeck make his return for the north London side.

Mertesacker tweeted after the game:

Arsenal now turn their attentions towards their Premier League clash with Burnley at The Emirates next weekend.
