Petr Cech: What I really think about Chelsea this season

Petr Cech admits that he has been impressed by Chelsea this season as Arsenal look to catch up with the Blues

Petr Cech admits that he has been impressed with Chelsea’s form this season but insists that Arsenal are ready to capitalise on any slip-ups from the Blues.

The west London side have firmly established themselves as the favourites to win the Premier League title this season after their impressive form under new boss Antonio Conte.

Chelsea’s remarkable upturn in form has been in stark contrast to their struggles last season, when they ended up in 10th place in the Premier League table and with their title defence in tatters following the sacking of Jose Mourinho.

Arsenal beat Chelsea 3-0 at The Emirates earlier this season and Arsene Wenger’s men will travel to Stamford Bridge in early February looking to take another three points off their London rivals.

And Cech has delivered his honest verdict on what he has seen from his former employers so far this season.

Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports, Cech said: “So far, they have been doing so well, breaking all sorts of records and winning so many games in a row.

“They didn’t start so well and then they picked up so hopefully we can find a situation where we can keep winning games and they can lose some points and we will be ready to close the gap.”
