Phil Neville reacts to Man United’s 2-0 win at West Ham on Twitter

The former Manchester United defender hails Juan Mata's goal-scoring record for the Red Devils

Phil Neville praised Juan Mata’s goal-scoring record after the midfielder made the breakthrough in Manchester United’s 2-0 win against 10-man West Ham United.

Sofiane Feghouli received a red card in the 20th minute to hand the Red Devils the initiative in their pursuit of a sixth successive Premier League victory.

However, Manchester United failed to make the breakthrough in the first half which prompted Jose Mourinho to introduce Mata from the bench at half-time.

And the Spain international made the breakthrough with a close-range finish after fellow substitute Marcus Rashford managed to evade two West Ham defender before crossing for the playmaker.

Mata has now scored five goals in all competitions under Mourinho – and former Manchester United defender Neville hailed the attacking midfielder’s goal-scoring record.

Neville had another reason to celebrate 16 minutes later after Zlatan Ibrahimovic extended the visitors’s lead despite appearing to be standing in an offside position.

Manchester United moved to within a point of fourth-placed Arsenal after their 2-1 win.
