The Arsenal midfielder was pleased to see his team-mate dig deep on Sunday afternoon....

Alex Iwobi hailed Arsenal’s determined performance in a 2-1 win against Burnley at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The Gunners looked to be edging towards a 1-0 victory over Sean Dyche’s men after Shkodran Mustafi scored his first goal for the north London club following his £35m move to Arsenal from La Liga outfit Valencia in the summer.

However, Arsenal substitute Francis Coquelin, who was brought on following Granit Xhaka’s sending off, conceded an added-time penalty which allowed Burnley striker Andre Gray to equalise from the spot.

The Gunners managed to remarkably rescue three points, though, after Alexis Sanchez netted a penalty of his own after Laurent Koscielny was controversially fouled in Tom Heaton’s area.

Iwobi started on the right wing against the promoted side before he was replaced in the second half.

The Nigeria international posted the above photo on his Instagram page and Iwobi wrote the following caption:

“Everyone Dug In Today & Showed Our Determination To Get The 3 Points … Fans Were Amazing & Kept Singing Till The End 🙌🏾 ❤#BIG17”
