The Manchester United midfielder reflects on 100 appearances for the club
Ander Herrera has spoken of his pride at making 100 appearances for Manchester United as the midfielder helped the Red Devils qualify for the EFL Cup final on Thursday night.
The 20-time English champions travelled to Hull City with a 2-0 aggregate lead after goals from Marouane Fellaini and Juan Mata in the first leg at Old Trafford earlier this month.
However, Jose Mourinho’s side endured a tough 90 minutes at the KCOM Stadium after Tom Huddlestone broke the deadlock for the hosts from the penalty spot after Marcos Rojo was penalised for holding Harry Maguire.
Paul Pogba came off the bench to equalise for the visitors in the second half but Hull edged into a slender lead thanks to Oumar Naisse’s goal to ensure a nervy finish in the second leg of the EFL Cup semi-final.
Manchester United progressed thanks to a 3-2 aggregate win and Mourinho’s men will face Southampton in the showpiece at Wembley next month.
Herrera made his 100th Manchester United appearance at Hull and the midfielder posted the following caption on his Instagram page for the above photo:
“Proud of my first 💯 appearances with @manchesterunited and happy to celebrate it qualifaying for another final 🔴”
