Ander Herrera takes to social media to reflect on Manchester United's 1-1 draw with Stoke City

Ander Herrera has taken to social media to reflect on Manchester United’s 1-1 draw with Stoke City in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

The Red Devils looked set to be heading towards a defeat at the Britannia Stadium as Jose Mourinho’s men trailed 1-0, but Wayne Rooney’s stoppage-time free-kick earned Manchester United a point.

The goal secured Rooney’s status as Manchester United’s all-time top goal-scorer after he surpassed Sir Bobby Charlton’s tally by netting his 250th strike for the Red Devils.

Herrera was clearly frustrated by the result but used his personal Instagram account to pay tribute to Rooney after the final whistle.

The Spaniard posted the picture above on the app and wrote the caption: “Not the result we wanted but we fought till the end. What a goal by Wazza by the way! 🔴 @manchesterunited”

Manchester United’s draw left them in sixth place in the Premier League table and extended their unbeaten run in all competitions to 17 games.
