Ander Herrera required stitches after Manchester United's 2-0 win over West Ham on Monday night

Ander Herrera has taken to social media to reveal that he required three stitches after Manchester United’s 2-0 win over West Ham on Monday night.

Herrera started in midfield for Jose Mourinho’s men as the Red Devils made it six wins on the spin in the top flight thanks to goals from Juan Mata and Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the second half at the London Stadium.

The Spaniard set up Ibrahimovic’s goal as he played the full 90 minutes in east London to help the Mourinho’s men continue their strong form in the Premier League.

However, the victory came at a price for Herrera, who showed off a cut above his right eye which required stitches after the game.

Herrera posted the picture above on his personal Instagram account and wrote the caption: “3 points and 3 stitches on the way to Manchester 👍🏼🔴 @manchesterunited”

Manchester United’s next Premier League game is a crunch clash against Liverpool at Old Trafford on 15 January.
