The Manchester United defender confirms that he has signed a new 18-month contract at Old Trafford
Antonio Valencia has taken to Instagram to reveal that he has signed a new 18-month contract with Manchester United.
The Ecuador international has put pen to paper on a new deal with the 20-time English champions after establishing himself as a first-team regular under new manager Jose Mourinho.
Valencia has made one assist in 18 appearances in the Premier League so far this season after cementing his spot at right-back following the appointment of Louis van Gaal.
The South American has been a mainstay of the Manchester United side under David Moyes, Van Gaal and Mourinho following his move to the Red Devils from Wigan Athletic during Sir Alex Ferguson’s reign in 2009.
Valencia posted the above photo on his Instagram page and discussed his decision to commit his future to Manchester United in the caption:
“Another year to give everything for the greatest club in the world @manchesterunited to announce I’ve renew my contract ’til 2018”
Manchester United are in sixth place in the Premier League table and 12 points behind leaders Chelsea.
The Red Devils played out a 1-1 draw with Liverpool in their last top-flight outing on Sunday.
