Danny Welbeck attempted to shed some light on his unique celebration on Instagram after the striker scored twice in Arsenal’s 5-0 win against Southampton in the FA Cup fourth round at St Mary’s on Saturday evening.

The England international netted twice in the opening 22 minutes to put the north London side in charge against the Saints despite the south coast club being buoyed by their 2-0 aggregate win against Liverpool earlier in the week.

Welbeck was making his first start of the 2016-17 season after the Arsenal forward recovered from a serious knee injury to secure a place in Arsene Wenger’s starting line-up against Claude Peul’s men.

And the Arsenal forward couldn’t hide his delight at scoring on his return to the north London side’s XI as the Gunners booked their place in the fifth round.

Welbeck posted the above snap on his Instagram page and wrote the following caption: “Had to sprinkle a little bit on that feeling… #Welbz #datguywelbz #sprinkle”
