The Chelsea forward calls on Serena Williams's triumph as inspiration ahead of their clash against Liverpool
Eden Hazard is drawing inspiration from the new Australian Open champion Serena Williams ahead of Chelsea’s clash against Liverpool in the Premier League on Tuesday night.
Chelsea booked their place in the FA Cup fifth round on Saturday afternoon thanks to a 4-0 win against Championship side Brentford at Stamford Bridge after goals from Willian, Pedro Rodriguez, Branislav Ivanovic and Michy Batshuayi.
Williams, meanwhile, beat her sister in straight sets to win the Australian Open and secure her 23rd Grand Slam title – more than any other women in Major history after the American eclipsed Steffi Graf’s tally of 22.
Hazard will be hoping to edge a step closer to his own slice of history on Tuesday night when Chelsea look to beat their title rivals Liverpool at Anfield.
And the Belgian forward posted the above photo on his Instagram page as he drew inspiration from Williams ahead of the Premier League clash.
Hazard wrote the following caption:
“Greatest ever. @SerenaWilliams #justdoit”
The former Lille man has scored nine Premier League goals this season.
