The Manchester United summer signing was disappointed not to get three points on his 28th birthday
Henrikh Mkhitaryan was touched by the support of the Manchester United fans on the midfielder’s birthday as the Red Devils had to settle for a 1-1 draw with Stoke City on Saturday afternoon.
The Armenia international was celebrating his 28th birthday on Saturday afternoon but the attacking midfielder couldn’t cap off his special day with a winner.
The Red Devils made a disappointing start to the Premier League clash after David De Gea netted a first-half own goal to leave Manchester United’s unbeaten run in the balance.
However, Wayne Rooney became Manchester United’s all-time leading goal-scorer with his 250th goal for the Red Devils in the fourth-minute of added time to rescue a dramatic point.
The summer signing wasn’t happy, though, after the Manchester United midfielder was unable to help Jose Mourinho’s side collect three points at Stoke.
Mkhitaryan posted the above photo on his Instagram page and wrote the following caption:
“Thanks from the bottom of my heart for the kind B-Day wishes! Even if today’s result was not what we wanted, we will fight back and give our all to our amazing fans and for this club! Congrats to @waynerooney for this milestone 2⃣5⃣0⃣⚽! #mufc”
Mkhitaryan moved to Manchester United in a £30m deal from Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund in the summer transfer window.
