Jack Wilshere reveals his delight at seeing Danny Welbeck return to action for Arsenal over the weekend

Jack Wilshere has taken to social media to reveal his delight at seeing Danny Welbeck return to action for Arsenal over the weekend.

The England international had not made a single appearance for the Gunners before this weekend but was a second-half substitute as Arsenal beat Preston North End 2-1 in the FA Cup third round at Deepdale.

Welbeck has been working on his fitness levels in recent months after suffering a serious knee injury towards the end of last season and undergoing a lengthy rehabilitation process.

The striker will now be hoping to hold down a regular spot in the Arsenal first team in the coming months as the Gunners look to challenge for silverware on three fronts.

And Wilshere, who is currently on loan to Bournemouth, has revealed his delight at seeing Welbeck get back to action for Arsenal over the weekend.

Wilshere posted the picture above of the duo on his personal Instagram account and wrote the caption: “Happy to see my boy Welbz back! The team has missed his quality #DatGuy”
