Juan Mata is eyeing a tenth successive victory for Manchester United ahead of the visit of Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.

The Spain international helped the Red Devils to ease to a 2-0 win against Hull City in the first leg of the EFL Cup semi-final on Tuesday night.

Mata made the breakthrough in the second half after the £37.1m signing managed to get on the end of Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s flick-on from Matteo Darmian’s cross.

The Red Devils have now won their last nine games in all competitions ahead of their return to Premier League action on Sunday afternoon.

Jose Mourinho’s side will face their potential EFL Cup final opponents Liverpool in the English top flight.

The Spanish midfielder took to his Instagram page to post the above the photo and lay down a challenge to Manchester United ahead of their clash against Liverpool.

Mata wrote on Instagram:

“9 wins in a row but we want more! One step closer! 💥🔴💪🏻👊🏻 #mufc @manchesterunited”
