Morgan Schneiderlin takes to social media to send a heartfelt message to Manchester United's fans heading into 2017

Morgan Schneiderlin has taken to social media to send a heartfelt message to Manchester United fans as the uncertainty about his future at Old Trafford continues.

The French midfielder has found his first-team opportunities at Old Trafford severely restricted this season following the appointment of Jose Mourinho as the club’s new manager back in May.

His lack of first-team football has inevitably prompted speculation that he could be set to seal a transfer away from Old Trafford in the January transfer window.

Mourinho confirmed last month that the midfielder had indeed asked to leave the Red Devils due to his lack of playing time.

However, the midfielder did not appear to be letting his lack of football get him down as he posted the picture above on his personal Instagram account on New Year’s Eve.

He shared the snap and wrote the caption: “I want to wish you a happy new year eve. Have a great party everyone 🎉🎉🎉🎉!

“Thanks for all the support I got from you throughout the year ❤️2017 gonna be a great and a better year for me I can feel it 😜😜⚽️. And of course 💒❤️@camille_sold”
