The Manchester United manager posts about his trophy haul at Porto on the 15th anniversary of his appointment as their head coach
Jose Mourinho reminded his Instagram followers of the Manchester United manager’s trophy haul during a two-and-a-half year spell in charge of Porto.
The Red Devils boss took charge of the Portuguese outfit in January 2002 and went on to win 71.7 per cent of his games before taking over at Chelsea in June 2004.
Mourinho won two Portuguese top-flight titles and two domestic cup competitions to establish Porto as the dominant force in his native country.
The 52-year-old masterminded a 3-2 extra-time win against Scottish giants Celtic in the Uefa Cup final in Seville in 2003 before Porto eased to a 3-0 win over Ligue 1 outfit Monaco in the Champions League final in 2004.
Mourinho’s career has since seen the manager take over the reins at Premier League outfit Chelsea, La Liga giants Real Madrid, Serie A side Inter Milan and Manchester United.
However, the Red Devils boss took time out of his schedule at Old Trafford to post the above post on his Instagram page to celebrate his record at Porto on the 15th anniversary of his appointment as the Portuguese club’s manager.
