Marcos Alonso enjoyed a brief trip to Madrid after Chelsea's 3-0 win over Leicester City on Saturday

Marcos Alonso jetted off to Madrid to catch up with some friends after helping to fire Chelsea to an impressive 3-0 win over Leicester at the weekend.

The Spaniard was in fine form for the Blues on Saturday as he put in a man of the match performance to inspire the west London side to victory at the King Power Stadium.

Alonso scored once in each half before Pedro Rodriguez’s late strike handed the Blues all three points against Claudio Ranieri’s men.

The defender has been a regular fixture in the Chelsea team this season and has earned plenty of praise for his performances since his arrival from Fiorentina in the summer.

And Alonso looked pleased to be enjoying some well-earned downtime before Chelsea’s home clash against Hull City this weekend.

After enjoying a meal out with some friends in Madrid, Alonso posted the picture above on his personal Instagram account and wrote: “Good to catch up with the old homies ”
