Mesut Ozil has taken to social media to reveal that he is on the way to recovery after a bout of flu.

The Arsenal playmaker has been bed-ridden over the last few days after picking up a bug in the wake of the Gunners’ Boxing Day win over West Brom in the Premier League.

The World Cup winner has not featured for the Gunners since that win at The Emirates and is set to once again miss out when Arsenal host Preston North End in the third round of the FA Cup on Saturday afternoon.

However, Ozil used his personal Instagram to update his followers on his recovery as he looks to get back to action for Arsenal as soon as possible.

Ozil posted the picture above on the app and wrote the caption: “Returning to @Arsenal training ground after my flu. Not yet at 💯% but I’m back 👍😉 #COYG”
