The Arsenal midfielder takes to Twitter to send a message to his Gunners team-mates ahead of their Burnley clash

Mohamed Elneny cheered on Arsenal from his base in the Africa Cup of Nations ahead of their 2-1 win over Burnley.

The defensive midfielder is currently on international duty with Egypt at the major tournament in Africa as Arsenal looked to hoist themselves above Liverpool and Tottenham into second place.

Elneny would have struck a frustrated figure watching the north London side in the first half as Arsene Wenger’s side struggled to make the breakthrough at the Emirates Stadium.

However, Arsenal finally made the breakthrough thanks to an unlikely source – Shkodran Mustafi – after the centre-half nodded Mesut Ozil’s corner past Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton.

Burnley produced a late equaliser from the penalty spot thanks to Andre Gray after Ashley Barnes was brought down inside Petr Cech’s area.

But Arsenal were rewarded a stoppage-time penalty of their own which Alexis Sanchez dispatched to secure three points.

Arsenal midfielder Elneny posted the below tweet ahead of the north London side’s home clash at The Emirates.

Arsenal will host Watford in their next Premier League clash at The Emirates on Tuesday 31 January.
