Photos: Brazil midfielder joins Firmino, Matip in Liverpool training

Philippe Coutinho trains under the lights at Melwood with Joel Matip and Roberto Firmino ahead of Liverpool's home clash against Stoke City

Philippe Coutinho trained alongside Roberto Firmino and Joel Matip at Melwood on Friday night ahead of Liverpool’s clash against Swansea City.

Jurgen Klopp put his players through their paces under the lights at their training ground less than 24 hours before the visit of the Swans at Anfield in Saturday’s early kick-off.

Coutinho started his first game since November on Wednesday night as Liverpool edged to a 1-0 win against League Two side Plymouth Argyle in the FA Cup third-round replay at Home Park.

Matip has been unavailable for selection in recent weeks as Liverpool sought to discover whether the centre-half could play for the Merseyside outfit after snubbing a call-up to Cameroon’s squad for the Africa Cup of Nations.

Roberto Firmino and Adam Lallana took part in the training session as Klopp’s side look to record their first Premier League win of 2017.

Here is a selection of the best photos from Liverpool’s training session.
