The Arsenal supporter wasn't happy with Granit Xhaka's idiotic red card in Sunday's 2-1 win over Burnley
Piers Morgan took to Twitter to slam Granit Xhaka after the midfielder’s red card in Arsenal’s 2-1 win over Burnley at The Emirates on Sunday afternoon.
The Gunners struggled to make the breakthrough in the first half despite Mesut Ozil’s bright performance before the attacking midfielder’s compatriot Shkodran Mustafi settled the home side’s nerves with a header.
The Arsenal defender nodded past Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton from Ozil’s corner to give the hosts a 59th-minute lead at the Emirates Stadium before the Gunners suffered a setback with 25 minutes remaining.
Xhaka was issued with a straight red card for a two-footed tackle on Burnley midfielder Steven Defour to leave Arsenal with 10 men.
Burnley netted a late equaliser from the penalty spot through Andre Grey after Barnes was brought down inside Petr Cech’s area.
But Alexis Sanchez held his nerve to net a stoppage-time penalty kick of his own and secure three points for the hosts.
Arsenal shareholder Morgan took to Twitter to criticise Xhaka’s reckless challenge after the summer signing picked up his second red card of the campaign.
