Possible Arsenal, Chelsea blow after striker issues commitment to La Liga club

Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata appears to drop a big hint about his future amid interest from Arsenal and Chelsea

Arsenal and Chelsea have been dealt a possible blow in their reported pursuit of Alvaro Morata after the striker underlined his commitment to Real Madrid.

Spanish media outlet Diario Gol – as quoted by Daily Star – reported that Arsenal and Chelsea were interested in the Spain international in the January transfer window.

Indeed, Morata was thought to have instructed his agent to find a new club earlier this week after the striker became disillusioned at a lack of playing time.

Chelsea are sitting eight points clear of Arsenal in the Premier League title race thanks to Diego Costa’s return of 15 goals in 20 games in the 2016-17 season.

However, Morata posted the above photo on his Instagram page and wrote the following caption on the photo-sharing app in what appeared to be a sign that his future lies at Real Madrid:

“No matter what they say #halamadrid forever! This is Madrid and we ALL keep going to the death! With my brother @iscoalarcon in today’s training!

Morata has netted five times and has made two assists in 13 appearances in La Liga this term despite finding his first-team opportunities limited.
