Pundit discusses Chelsea and Man United’s title hopes
Tony Gayle explains how he sees the race for the Premier League title this season
Tony Gayle believes that Manchester United and Manchester City are already out of the Premier League title race this season.
The Red Devils were held to a 1-1 draw by Liverpool at Old Trafford in the top flight on Sunday as they dropped further points in the race for the title.
That result left the Red Devils 12 points behind Chelsea, while Manchester City are now in fifth place following their 4-0 loss to Everton last weekend.
And Gayle feels that the race for the Premier League title will now come down to the top four teams in the table – Chelsea, Tottenham, Liverpool and Arsenal.
Speaking to Sky Sports News HQ, Gayle said: “Every team has got a chance in the top six but I would probably say the top four. It is the top four now. It is a four-horse race because of the problems Manchester City have got.
“Manchester United are too far behind and haven’t got the quality of Spurs or Chelsea at the moment.
“Chelsea have the main advantage, like Liverpool, with no European football.”
Chelsea are currently leading the way at the top of the pile after their impressive 3-0 win over Leicester City last weekend left them seven points clear of second-placed Tottenham.
The Blues are preparing to host Hull City at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.
