Pundit makes confident prediction about Chelsea striker and France midfielder
Ray Parlour delivers his verdict on the futures of Diego Costa and Dimitri Payet
Ray Parlour is confident that Diego Costa will remain at Chelsea until the summer but is backing Dimitri Payet to seal a move away from West Ham in January.
The Spain international has reportedly been the subject of interest from China in recent weeks amid talk of an incredible £400,000-a-week contract offer.
Costa was omitted from the Chelsea squad for their trip to Leicester City last weekend due to a back injury, although the British media reported that the striker had fallen out with Antonio Conte over talk of a move to China.
The 28-year-old has trained with his Chelsea team-mates this week which suggests that the Spanish star has a future at Stamford Bridge.
Payet, on the other hand, refused to play for West Ham last weekend and the Hammers are believed to be in negotiations with Ligue 1 side Marseille over the want-away midfielder.
Speaking to the Alan Brazil Up Front podcast, ex-Arsenal midfielder Parlour gave a transfer prediction on the duo.
“Costa will definitely be at Chelsea. Payet will definitely be leaving. That’s how I look at it,” Parlour said.
