Pundit makes exciting prediction about Chelsea and Antoine Griezmann
Ray Parlour believes Antoine Griezmann and Diego Costa could swap clubs in the summer
Ray Parlour has admitted that he wouldn’t be surprised if Antoine Griezmann joined Chelsea in the summer transfer window with Diego Costa moving in the other direction to Atletico Madrid.
The Spain international is facing an uncertain future at the west London club after a reported falling-out with manager Antonio Conte over interest from the China in the Premier League’s joint leading goal-scorer.
Costa missed Chelsea’s 3-0 win against defending champions Leicester City but the 28-year-old trained with his Blues team-mates this week after recovering from a back injury.
Griezmann, meanwhile, has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United in recent months as Jose Mourinho looks to make the fifth signing of his Old Trafford reign.
While Manchester United are touted as the favourites to sign the France international, Chelsea have been previously linked with a move for the Atletico star.
Former Arsenal midfielder Parlour has suggested that Costa and Griezmann could move in opposite directions in the summer.
“Griezmann will be the one everyone will be chasing – Chelsea and Manchester United. That could be where the deal is done,” Parlour told the Alan Brazil Up Front podcast.
“Griezmann goes to Chelsea and Costa goes to Atletico.”
