Pundit makes strong point about Alexis Sanchez at Arsenal
Danny Mills has his say on Alexis Sanchez after the Arsenal forward's strop at Swansea at the weekend
Danny Mills believes that Alexis Sanchez should have been praised for showing passion during Arsenal’s 4-0 win over Swansea City at the weekend.
The Chile international hit the headlines over the weekend after reacting angrily to being substituted in the second half of the Gunners’ victory in south Wales.
Sanchez has been one of the Premier League’s standout performers since his arrival at the north London club from Barcelona in the summer of 2014.
Indeed, he has earned a reputation as one of the hardest-working players in the top flight and is regularly praised for his work-rate.
And former defender Mills feels that players should be allowed to show passion and disappointment if they are not happy with a decision.
Speaking to Sky Sports News HQ, Mills said: “We often moan that players don’t care. We say there isn’t enough emotion and passion. They’re happy to go along and get paid.
“As soon someone does care, we give it to them again. The top players can’t win either way.
“He wants to play week in, week out. That’s it.”
Sanchez will be expecting to feature for Arsenal when the Gunners return to Premier League action with a home clash against Burnley at The Emirates on Sunday.
