Pundit makes worrying prediction about Man United goalkeeper
Shaka Hislop is tipping David De Gea to leave Manchester United for Real Madrid in the summer transfer window
Shaka Hislop has claimed that David De Gea will swap Manchester United for Real Madrid at the end of the season.
The Spain international has been one of Manchester United’s most-consistent players under Jose Mourinho this season.
Indeed, only Premier League leaders Chelsea and third-placed Tottenham Hotspur have a better defensive record than Manchester United.
The Red Devils came close to losing De Gea in 2015 when the shot stopper’s proposed move to Real Madrid fell through on the final day of La Liga’s summer transfer window.
Chelsea number one Thibaut Courtois has also been touted as a potential target for Real Madrid in recent months.
Liverpool, meanwhile, have been linked with a move for Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart, who is currently on-loan at Serie A side Torino after being deemed surplus to requirements at The Etihad.
Speaking to ESPN, former Newcastle United and West Ham goalkeeper Hislop made a prediction involving De Gea, Courtois and Hart.
“[Hart has] been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool,” Hislop told ESPN.
“The Chelsea link comes because there’s still some uncertainty about Courtois, his long-term future at Stamford Bridge and supposed Real Madrid interest.
“I think Real Madrid will continue to put all their eggs in the De Gea basket and I think Courtois might be a bit of a distraction than a Plan B.
“So I think Hart will find himself going to Anfield rather than Stamford Bridge.”
