Pundit on Jurgen Klopp: Why I’ve got a crush on the Liverpool manager
The former Chelsea striker admits he is a huge fan of Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp
Chris Sutton has admitted that he has a crush on Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.
The German head coach has become one of the most popular managers in the Premier League since he took over the reins of the Merseyside outfit from Brendan Rodgers back in October.
The 49-year-old led Liverpool to an eighth-place finish in his first season in charge at the 18-time English champions as well as reaching the Europa League and League Cup finals.
Klopp signed seven players in the summer transfer window and has since transformed Liverpool into title contenders.
The Reds were 1-0 winners against title rivals Manchester City at Anfield on New Year’s Eve before a disappointing 2-2 draw with Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on Tuesday afternoon.
Speaking after Liverpool’s close-fought victory over Pep Guardiola’s side, Sutton ousted himself as a huge fan of Klopp.
“I’ve got a massive crush on Jurgen Klopp. Just the way the players play for him. There have been questions marks over the goalkeeper and defending but Klopp sees through all that. They’ve got such belief in each other,” Sutton told BBC’s 606 podcast.
Liverpool have already beaten title rivals Chelsea, Manchester City and Arsenal in the Premier League this season, as well as drawing with Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.
