Pundit replies when asked if the title is Chelsea’s to lose
Graeme Souness discusses Chelsea's Premier League title hopes this season...
Graeme Souness believes that the Premier League title is now Chelsea’s to lose after they moved eight points clear at the top of the table.
Goals from Diego Costa and Gary Cahill fired the west London side to a 2-0 win over Hull City at Stamford Bridge as they continued their impressive form in the top flight under new boss Antonio Conte.
Chelsea have established themselves as the firm favourites to win the title this season thanks to their superb start to the campaign under Conte.
Their remarkable upturn in form has been in stark contrast to their struggles last term, when they ended up 10th in the table and without a trophy.
Chelsea are set for a stern examination of their title credentials when they take on Liverpool and Arsenal in their next two Premier League games.
But Souness feels that the Blues have firmly established themselves as the heavy favourites to win the title this season.
Speaking to Sky Sports on Sunday, Souness said: “Yes [the title is Chelsea’s to lose]. It was before this game.
“I come back to the Chelsea team. They’re not going to lose daft games. There will be a few surprises between now and May but it’s theirs to lose for me.”
