Former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour believes Mesut Ozil is more settled than Alexis Sanchez at The Emirates
Mesut Ozil is more likely than Alexis Sanchez to stay at Arsenal beyond the summer, according to Ray Parlour.
The Germany international and the South American forward are facing uncertain futures at the north London club have entered into negotiations over a new deal with the Arsenal duo.
Ozil has scored five goals and has made three assists in 18 Premier League games so far this season and the World Cup winner has admitted he is holding out to see whether Arsene Wenger will be staying at the club.
Sanchez, meanwhile, has netted 14 times and has made three assists in 21 Premier League appearances to help the Gunners remain in the title race.
However, the Chilean forward was unhappy at being substituted with 12 minutes to play in Arsenal’s 4-0 win at Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium.
Former Arsenal midfielder Parlour believes that Ozil looks more likely to remain at the Gunners, casting doubt on Sanchez’s future.
“Ozil is the more likely. He has already mentioned that he is waiting for the manager to decide what he is going to do. But certainly Ozil is more settled,” Parlour told Sky Sports News HQ.
“Sanchez has lots of rumours whether he is going to go to China. The contracts they’re going to get now are going to be huge in terms of Arsenal’s history. They never give contracts that they’re going to get. They’ve got make that big decision now whether they’re going to give it to them or not.”
Arsenal finished in second place in the Premier League table last term.
