Pundit: What I really think about Man United and Arsenal’s title hopes
Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink delivers his verdict on Manchester United and Arsenal's title hopes this season
Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink believes that Manchester United are out of the Premier League title race – but says Arsenal still have a chance of catching Chelsea.
The Red Devils were held to a 1-1 draw by Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon as they had to come from a goal down to earn a point against their bitter local rivals.
That result left Jose Mourinho’s men in sixth place in the Premier League table and 12 points behind leaders Chelsea.
Arsenal, meanwhile, were 4-0 winners over Swansea City at the weekend and currently trail the leaders by eight points.
Tottenham are second and seven points behind the leaders, level with Liverpool in third.
And former Chelsea star Hasselbaink feels that both Manchester United and Manchester City are already out of the race for the title this season.
Speaking to Sky Sports News HQ on Wednesday morning, Hasselbaink said: “They’re [Arsenal] one of the four teams that are in the race.
“I think the Manchester teams are out of the title race. If Man United had beat Liverpool then I would still include them.
“The wins are not going as smooth as they should be for Arsenal.
“I do think Arsenal can still win it but Tottenham are the ones that can challenge Chelsea all the way.
“They have the most talented squad for me, Pochettino is very positive. Tottenham are ahead of Arsenal in the title race.”
Arsenal will take on Burnley at The Emirates on Sunday, after Manchester United travel to Stoke on Saturday afternoon.
