Ray Parlour has warned Arsene Wenger that Arsenal can’t afford to drop any more points in the title race ahead of their home clash against Crystal Palace on New Year’s Day.
The Gunners have struggled in December so far after Arsene Wenger’s side saw their 14-game unbeaten run come to an end after a 2-1 loss to Everton at Goodison Park.
The north London side squandered a lead at the Etihad Stadium to lose 2-1 to title rivals Manchester City in their final game before Christmas Day.
Olivier Giroud helped Arsenal to make a much-needed return to winning ways on Boxing Day after the France international’s 86th-minute header sealed a 1-0 win over West Bromwich Albion at The Emirates.
Speaking to the Alan Brazil Up Front podcast, Parlour warned the Gunners that they can ill-afford to drop any more points in the title race ahead of the visit of Crystal Palace on New Year’s Day.
“They’ve got to get maximum points over Christmas if they’re going to stay in the hunt. They’ve got make sure they stay in the race,” Parlour said.
Arsenal signed five players in the summer transfer window after finishing in second place last term.
