Rio Ferdinand took to social media to react to Manchester United’s 1-1 draw with Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon as the Red Devils came back from a goal down to earn a point from the game.

It was the visitors who took the lead in the 27th minute at Old Trafford when James Milner netted his penalty after Paul Pogba handed in the box from a corner.

Both teams had chances to score but it was Manchester United who finally made the breakthrough late on.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic was on hand to head home powerfully from close range in the 84th minute to earn a point for the home side.

Ferdinand was active on social media throughout the game as the action unfolded at Old Trafford.

And the former Manchester United defender was clearly thrilled to see his old side equalise against the visitors.

Ferdinand tweeted:

The draw left Liverpool in third place in the Premier League table and seven points behind leaders Chelsea.

Manchester United, meanwhile, remain in sixth place and 12 points behind the leaders.
