Rio Ferdinand urges Man United to make these two signings

The Manchester United legend wants to see the Red Devils sign Gareth Bale and Antoine Griezmann

Rio Ferdinand believes Manchester United should sign Gareth Bale and Antoine Griezmann if Jose Mourinho has the available funds in the summer.

The Red Devils have been heavily linked with a move for Atletico Madrid striker Griezmann throughout the 2016-17 season so far.

The France international has scored eight times and has made four assists in 18 appearances in the current campaign.

Bale is currently sidelined with a serious knee injury which the Wales international suffered earlier this term.

The Real Madrid forward is close to a return to first-team action after winning two Champions League title since his move to the Spanish capital from Tottenham Hotspur in 2013.

The Welsh midfielder is another player who has reportedly been a long-term target for the Premier League’s most-successful club.

Former Manchester United defender Ferdinand would love to see both Bale and Griezmann at Old Trafford.

“Manchester United have got the money, I’d go get both,” Ferdinand told Squawka.

“They’re great players but I don’t think they’re comparable to be honest. They’re different players. Gareth could play anywhere across the frontline. He’d be effective anywhere – from the right to the left, central.”

Manchester United spent a world-record £89m fee on Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba in the summer transfer window.
