Steve McManaman makes confident prediction about Arsenal

The former Liverpool midfielder is confident that Arsenal will finish in the Premier League's top four

Steve McManaman insists he has never doubted that Arsenal will finish in the Premier League’s top four this season.

The Gunners were 2-1 winners against Sean Dyche’s Burnley side on Sunday afternoon after Alexis Sanchez’s added-time penalty rescued three points for the north London side.

Andre Gray had cancelled out Shkodran Mustafi’s second-half header with a spot-kick minutes earlier after Francis Coquelin’s reckless challenge gave the visitors a chance to secure an unlikely point in north London.

Arsene Wenger’s side hoisted themselves above Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool into second place thanks to their 2-1 win against Burnley.

Speaking to BT Sport ahead of Arsenal’s home clash against Burnley, McManaman was adamant that he has been consistent in his opinion that Wenger’s side would secure a top-four finish.

“I think Arsenal will finish in the top four. I’ve alway said Arsenal will finish in the top four,” McManaman said.

Arsenal finished in second place in the Premier League last term but 10 points adrift of champions Leicester City.

The Gunners haven’t won the Premier League title since 2004.

The north London side signed five players in the summer transfer window.
