Steven Gerrard sends blunt message to Liverpool fans about Jurgen Klopp

The former Liverpool captain can't fathom the prospect of some of the club's fans losing faith in Jurgen Klopp

Steven Gerrard admits he finds it incredible that some Liverpool supporters could be losing faith in Jurgen Klopp.

The Merseyside outfit suffered a 3-2 loss to Premier League strugglers Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium to leave Liverpool a staggering nine points behind leaders Chelsea.

Fernando Llorente scored twice in the opening seven minutes at Anfield before Roberto Firmino netted a brilliant brace to level at 2-2 with 21 minutes to play on the red half of Merseyside.

But Gylfi Sigurdsson scored a surprise winner for the visitors to inflict upon Liverpool a first defeat of the season at Anfield in the Premier League.

Liverpool have failed to win a Premier League game in 2017 so far after successive stalemates with Sunderland and Manchester United before a 1-1 draw with Manchester United at Old Trafford last weekend.

Speaking to BT Sport on Saturday evening after Liverpool’s 3-2 loss to Swansea, Gerrard was asked about what he would say to any of the club’s fans starting to lose faith in Klopp.

“If Liverpool fans are losing trust in Jurgen Klopp right now, it’s incredible,” Gerrard said.

“We’re lucky to have him. He’s a world-class manager. He’s going to bring success to the football club.”
