Ian Wright states prediction for Stoke City v Man United

The former Arsenal striker is backing Manchester United to edge to victory over Stoke City

Ian Wright is backing Manchester United to nick a win against Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The Red Devils will be desperate to return to winning ways at Stoke after Jose Mourinho’s side produced a disappointing performance at Old Trafford last weekend.

The 20-time English champions were outplayed by bitter rivals Liverpool after James Milner broke the deadlock from the penalty spot in the first half.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic rescued the home side’s blushes with an 84th-minute equaliser to salvage a point in the clash between the Premier League title contenders.

Speaking to The Sun Goals podcast ahead of Manchester United’s trip to The Britannia on Saturday afternoon, ex-Arsenal striker backed Mourinho’s men to get the job done.

“At home, Stoke will be up for it. Manchester United have a lot to make up after the way they started their last game. I think there was a lot going on around the game,” Wright said. “I’d go with Manchester United to nick it.”

Manchester United are in sixth place in the Premier League table and 12 points adrift of current leaders Chelsea after 21 games.
